The fire was most likely started by human activity. Nearly 200 fire fighters are battling the flames.
Fire fighters are attempting to keep the fire south and west of Flux Canyon, north of the Soldier Basin drainage and east of the Coronado National Forest boundary.
The fire has consumed approximately 825 acres and is 5 percent contained. The fire is burning grass and brush, and is not threatening any structures at this time.
An investigation is underway as to the cause of the fire.
