The husband of Mary Peters, former Secretary of Transportation Secretary, was arrested by Coconino Sheriff’s officers this Saturday. Terry Peters, age 66, was arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor and sexual abuse.
According to Peoria police spokesman Jay Davies, t he alleged sexual conduct occurred in 2009 and 2010, when the girl was about 7. Davis said there are” multiple instances of this happening.”
Peters was arrested by Coconino Sheriff’s officers at a family cabin in Happy Jack. Peters was then placed into the custody Peoria police officers.
Before serving in President Bush’s Cabinet, Mary Peters was a senior vice president and national director for HDR, Inc.; the federal highway administrator for the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT); and director of the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). She was named chair of JANPAC, Governor Brewer’s political-action committee, in November 2011.
