A Tucson man died after being struck by a train in Tucson near Ruthrauff Road and Interstate 10 about 11 p.m. Wednesday. He is the second person to die as a result of a train hitting a pedestrian in two days in Arizona.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and Union Pacific investigators are investigating the death.
The day before, Patrick Zenner, 46, was killed after he was stuck by a Union Pacific train in Gilbert.
According to the Arizona Republic, “from January 1 to April 30, there have been four other fatalities. All four were classified as trespassers and three fatalities involved Union Pacific, according to data from the Federal Railroad Administration Office of Safety Analysis.”
