Three felon suspects arrested by CBP officers

Nogales CBP agents arrest three in 6 hours

Three individuals with outstanding arrest warrants were apprehended Monday within a six hour period, including a man wanted in connection with a murder last month in Miami.

When a man identifying himself as Ernesto Giama, 25, attempted to enter the United States through a pedestrian lane at the Dennis DeConcini Port, Customs and Border Protection officers referred him for additional questioning. A routine records check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant for Giama, but identified him as 25-year-old Barbaro Felix Fortun. He was turned over to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department to await extradition.

CBP officers also arrested Jesse Robles, 26, of Phoenix after a routine records check revealed an active warrant issued by the U.S. Marshals Service for human trafficking. Once the warrant was confirmed, Robles was turned over to the Nogales Police Department.

A short time earlier, Henry Estevan Yanez, 29, of Tucson was arrested after officers at the DeConcini Port discovered an outstanding arrest warrant from California. Yanez was also turned over to NPD once the warrant was confirmed.
