CBP Border Patrol agents arrest Remigio Lopez-Alvarez
Last Friday, Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended an illegal immigrant wanted for homicide in Mexico.
Ajo Station CBP agents apprehended four individuals who entered the U.S. illegally. During processing, record checks revealed one of the men, Remigio Lopez-Alvarez, age 32, had an active homicide warrant from Chiapas, Mexico.
Through cooperation and information sharing between the Border Patrol and the government of Mexico, the warrant was entered into the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System. IAFIS gives agents the ability to quickly identify dangerous criminals and ensures that wanted persons are turned over to the appropriate agencies.
Following immigration proceedings, Lopez-Alvarez was turned over to Mexican authorities
