PCSO is reporting that deputies responded to the Foothills Mall on September 2, at about 8:16 p.m., to a call about an armed robbery.
A 9-1-1 caller said that there had been armed robbery in the parking lot of the Foothills Mall. Two women told deputies that one of them had her purse stolen at gunpoint. The two women were approached by two male individuals while standing by their car. One of the two suspects produced a shotgun and demanded for one of the women to hand over her purse.
When the woman tried to explain that she had no money on her, the suspect escalated his threat to where he held the shotgun to the victim’s face. She then let go of the purse which the suspect took from her. Both males then ran off towards an apartment complex on the west side of the parking lot.
PCSO deputies, canine units and the Sheriff’s Air Unit responded to the area in an effort to locate the two suspects, but were unable to find them. The suspects were described as follows: The suspect holding the shotgun was a Caucasian male, approximately 5’9” tall, 160 to 175 pounds, dark hair, wearing brown or red shorts and a red bandana over his face. The other suspect was approximately 5’11” tall, also wearing brown or red shorts, but a blue bandana. The purse was a brown and black handmade purse. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
