Tucson Police Department homicide detectives have identified 22-year old Victor Lizardi as the individual responsible for the murder of Francisco Pereida, which occurred on August 16, 2011. Lizardi has been in custody at the Pima County Jail since August 17, 2011 on an unrelated murder charge, regarding the murder of 43-year old Michael Smith, which occurred on August 14, 2011.
On September 17, 2012, Lizardi was served at the Pima County Jail with the additional charges for one count of First Degree Murder, one count of Armed Robbery and one count of Prohibited Possessor related to the murder of Francisco Pereida.
At about 11:30 a.m. on August 17, 2011, TPD recovered Pereida 2001 Jaguar from a large retail parking lot in the 4600 block of North Oracle Road. A 911 caller reported that the vehicle had been abandoned in the lot.
