Deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to two separate robberies of QuikMart convenience stores that occurred only 33 minutes apart from one another (0223 hours & 0256 hours) in the early morning hours of October 18, 2012. The first incident occurred at 4280 East Benson Highway and the second one at 900 West Roger Road.
In both incidents the same suspects appear to be involved. They threatened the store clerks at knife point and demanded money and cigarettes. Verbal threats were made to the store employees throughout the holdup. The suspects fled on foot after their demands were met. Surveillance video was obtained by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office from the store at 900 West Roger Road.
Suspect #1 was described to be approximately 5’7” to 5’10” tall, thin build, wearing a white t-shirt with black print on the front. He was wearing construction gloves and a baseball hat. He had a sheath for the large knife hanging down on the right side of his belt. His face was covered by a bandana.
Suspect #2 was described to be approximately 5’4” to 5’7” tall, medium build, wearing a black t-shirt with white vertical print on it and black pants. He held a smaller knife (possibly a folding knife), his face was also covered with a bandana and he also used construction gloves. This suspect also wore a baseball hat.
