A Phoenix area woman died after driving her car into a Scottsdale Applebee’s.
On January 22, at 3:30 p.m. Patricia Van Laeke, age 57, of Chandler, was driving her Land Rover in the parking lot of the Applebee’s at 10460 N. 90th Street and collided with the southwest portion of a brick wall attached to the restaurant. Ms. Van Laeke suffered severe trauma and internal injuries and was transported to SHC Osborn with life-threatening injuries.
Ms. Van Laeke succumbed to her injuries on January 23 at the hospital.
Alcohol appears to be a factor in this collision. Ms. Van Laeke was not wearing her seatbelt.
