Scottsdale woman flees after stabbing

On March 10, at 8:15 pm the Scottsdale Police Department was called to an apartment near 116th Street and Sahuaro for a victim who had been stabbed. Her boyfriend, Frank Banashley Jr., locked himself inside of the apartment after the victim had exited on her own.

Banashley stayed locked inside for over two hours while officers negotiated with him to come out. At 10:45 pm he came out and was taken into custody without any further incident.

The victim was transported to SHC Osborn with a single stab wound to the lower body and two to the upper body. Her injuries were not considered to be life threatening.

Banashley was booked on Aggravated Assault and other charges.
