South Tucson marijuana farmer identified

Ronald James Sisco, has been identified as the suspect residing at a residence turned drug warehouse in which a large amount of marijuana was confiscated. During the course of their investigation, detectives also discovered that Sisco had his 22-month old child living with him at the residence.

On March 21, 2013, Sisco turned himself in to police, and he was booked into the Pima County Jail for the following charges:
• One count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana for Sale
• One count of Unlawful Cultivation of Marijuana for Sale
• One count of Unlawful Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia
• One count of Child Abuse

On March 14, 2013, South Tucson Police Officers were on routine patrol in the area of South 6th Avenue and West 35th Street when they noticed an odor of fresh marijuana. Officers from the Tucson Police Department’s Southside Community Response Team responded to assist.

Officers located the odor of fresh marijuana coming from the residence turned drug warehouse in the area.
The warehouse was on a fenced lot. Part of the warehouse had been converted into a residence and it was obvious that someone was living there, but no one was home at the time the warrant was served. The other portions of the warehouse had been converted into a sophisticated marijuana grow operation. Detectives located 356 marijuana plants growing inside the residence and over 53 pounds of cultivated hydroponic marijuana in the warehouse and in the residence within the structure.

Large amounts of marijuana grow equipment was located in separate rooms of the warehouse. Detectives also located $18,000 in U.S. Currency inside the residence portion of the structure.
