“It was a real pleasure to walk the neighborhoods of the ward and talk to people that have felt like their voice goes unheard in the City of Tucson. My ward has many good, hard working people that just don’t have the time to engage politically with the city to solve the numerous problems of joblessness, poverty and inner city decay that our Ward has experienced for so long,” said Polak in a statement released on Tuesday. “They responded very positively to my message of hope and a real vision and plan to address these long neglected issues.”
Mr. Polak says he will bring his experience in the private sector to solving the problems of high crime, low wages, and neglected enforcements that have decimated small business and healthy competition. “Our core values and what our charter tells us is that public safety, fire protection, parks and recreation and transportation are to be our priorities and I am not seeing that from our present Council Member, Richard Fimbres, he just keeps going along to get along with a very radical anti-business, anti-growth, anti taxpayer majority.”
Pat Sexton, president of the Tucson Chapter of the Arizona Latino Republican Association said “I support Mike 100%. He is a good candidate and a very nice man. He is the right candidate to challenge the incumbent and he will have our support.”
Legislative District 10 Republican Chairman Paul Diggins said “Mike’s plan of concentrating on growing aerospace, bioscience, transportation and industry in Tucson is the right track. Our District will support him with the people and resources necessary to win this election, We are behind him.”
Richard Fimbres has raised eyebrows and questions recently due to his involvement with a nonprofit organization that appeared to benefit from Fimbres’s position on the Tucson City Council.
