Tanque Verde Falls drowning victim identified

Richard Baker has been identified as the 29-year-old man who died after jumping into the water at Tanque Verde Falls on Sunday.

Mr. Baker was part of a group of people jumping off the cliffs and into water pools. He sustained a head injury and did not immediately come back up to the surface.

Others in the party jumped in to pull him out but he was unresponsive and not breathing. Bystanders performed CPR on the man until paramedics from the Rural/Metro Fire Department arrived.

Mr. Baker was pronounced dead at the scene.
