Tucson Police arrested a 16-year-old male on charges of vandalism in Saguaro National Park. Park rangers report that there were 40 separate graffiti instances in which 11 saguaro cacti were tagged with matte black spray paint on the Douglas Spring Trail.
The tags were recognized by a member of the public who called Tucson police.
Vandalizing a national park is a federal offense punishable by up to a $5,000 fine.
In May, two separate vandals turned themselves in after damaging some of the saguaros in the Park.
