Flake introduces bill to delay Obamacare

On Tuesday, Arizona Senator Jeff Flake introduced S. 1490 which would delay for one year all of Obamacare’s provisions going into effect on January 1, 2014 or later, including, among others, the individual and employer mandates of Obamacare as well as all taxes associated with Obamacare.

Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Richard Burr (R-NC), Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), Tim Scott (R-SC) and Tom Coburn (R-OK) are cosponsors of the bill. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced the House version.

“Given that Obamacare provides various waivers and exemptions, and that the President himself concedes the bill is not ready to be implemented, it’s clear to me that a total delay of Obamacare is the fairest and most realistic plan to prevent the law from wreaking havoc on all Americans,” said Flake.

S. 1490 is supported by Americans for Tax Reform, American Commitment, Independent Women’s Voice, National Taxpayers Union, and Taxpayers Protection Alliance.
