Town managers, mayors to discuss Vail incorporation

With the November 5th election approaching, residents of Vail will have an opportunity to learn about the proposed incorporation process as well as ask questions about Proposition #403.

A town hall meeting regarding the incorporation of Vail will be held at the Old Vail Middle School on September 19th at 6:30 p.m. Hosted by the Citizens for Vail Committee, the event will feature a panel discussion with Mayor Duane Blumberg of Sahuarita, Mayor Ed Honea of Marana, Gilbert Davidson – Town Manager of Marana, and Greg Caton – Oro Valley Town Manager. The panel will also include Tom Belshe, the Deputy Director at the League of Arizona Cities and Towns.

Scott Altherr, a member of the Citizens for Vail committee said, “The Town Hall is a great forum for the residents of the proposed Town of Vail to better understand the benefits and process of Incorporation. It is an exciting time to be a resident of one of the best communities in all of Arizona, especially knowing the future of our town will be decided on in the November election.”

Although early ballots are mailed in October, voters will still have a chance to vote at their local polling place on November 5th. Proposition #403 to Incorporate Vail will be the only measure on the ballot this election cycle.
