The Salvation Army has been providing relief since the fire broke out June 28, 2013. Initial response teams provided meals for the first responders who were fighting the fires and planning the memorial services of the fallen firefighters. The Salvation Army estimates that they served more than 15,000 meals and nutritional items, as well as 25,000 beverages, during the initial response. Once residents were able to return to their homes, The Salvation Army expanded feedings into Yarnell and began providing social service assistance and spiritual counseling.
“We are very thankful to AmTrust for their generous donation,” said Lt. Elaine Monsoor, Prescott Corps Officer of The Salvation Army. “The people in Yarnell have a long road to recovery, but they have joined together to rebuild. Recently, the community had a celebration with the ground breaking of the first home. The Salvation Army is here to provide long-term recovery support and AmTrust’s gift will go directly to provide that support.”

“We have a long-standing relationship with the Salvation Army and thanks to the generosity of our customers and staff, we were able to make this donation to The Salvation Army,” said Kelly Maude Leung, First Vice President Corporate Communications, New York Community Bancorp. “Recently our AmTrust management team had the privilege of touring Prescott and Yarnell with The Salvation Army, and we are confident they can help these communities in the rebuilding process.”
