Cardinals win PETA honorable mention

This year, the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, has earned an honorable mention on PETA’s 2013 list of the Top Five Vegetarian-Friendly NFL Stadiums. It has been four years since the vegetarian and vegan food available at the stadium, has won recognition from PETA.

PETA Associate Director Ryan Huling said, “The vegetarian menu items at University of Phoenix Stadium are every bit as clutch as Larry Fitzgerald on third and long.”

Visitors to the concession stands can enjoy a restaurant-quality vegetable stir-fry with rice or egg-free noodles. Another PETA favorite is the perfectly seasoned hummus platter. Fans in the premium sections can enjoy chips and guacamole or the meat-free burrito.

Topping the rankings this year is the Philadelphia Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field. Rounding out the top five are the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium (second place), the Oakland Raiders’ O.co Coliseum (third place), the Detroit Lions’ Ford Field (fourth place), and the San Diego Chargers’ Qualcomm Stadium. Also receiving honorable mentions are the homes of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and Minnesota Vikings.
