Cruz was quickly taken into custody without incident.
In the bathroom, detectives found that Christopher had approximately four pounds of marijuana. Also inside of the residence were two shotguns and a handgun.
Christopher was booked into the Pinal County Jail for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Misconduct involving Weapons, Destruction of Evidence, and two counts of Endangerment since there were two young children in the residence.
Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “Suspect Cruz attempted to flush nearly four pounds of marijuana down the toilet to avoid arrest. I’m sure he now wishes he invested in a plunger for his house, and he may have gotten away with the possession charge. With his prior felony conviction and current charges, he will likely be serving some time in prison.”
