Yuma Sheriff seeking identify of hit and run victim

On Saturday night November 30, 2013 at approximately 11:15 pm, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male subject walking in the roadway on Highway 95 near Avenue 3E.  While responding to the reported location, the Sheriff’s Office received at least two more calls advising of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian at the same location.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance identifying the deceased subject in this case.  The victim is described as a Hispanic male between 20-30 years of age, wearing a black FOX off-road t-shirt, blue jeans with black shoes.

Initial investigation at the scene revealed that a white 2012 Nissan Armada driven by Henry Ghiotto, 57 years old of Winterhaven, CA, was traveling eastbound on Highway 95 from Avenue 3E. The pedestrian was wearing dark colored clothing was struck while he was in the eastbound lane by the Nissan Armada. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Notification of next of kin is pending identification of the victim.
