On the afternoon of December 22, 2013, Tucson Police Department officers responded to multiple reports of shots heard in the area of Freedom Park located at 5000 East 29th Street. Officers found an adult male with gunshot trauma. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Witnesses gave several vehicle descriptions of possible suspect vehicles. Officers located a matching vehicle in the area and detained two occupants. It was confirmed that this vehicle was indeed at the park at the time of the incident but their involvement is not yet known, according to TPD.
One of the individuals involved in this incident had previous documented gang affiliations.
