Father, son domestic violence leads to homicide

On Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Pima County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 16500 block of West Moore Road in reference to a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim, Justin Patrick, age 47, on the ground in front of the residence, not breathing.

Justin’s son, Jared Patrick, age 20, was found by responding deputies walking away from the residence. Aid was rendered to Justin until emergency medical services arrived on scene. Justin was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Detectives learned that Justin and Jared were found fighting by family members outside of the residence.

The family was able to separate the two; however, Justin quickly succumbed to his injuries. Jared was booked at the Pima County Adult Detention Center for Second Degree Murder.
