A Las Vegas man, wanted on attempted murder charges in Nevada, was apprehended on Jan. 17, by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Officers first referred Jose Manuel Venegas-Barajas, 19, for additional questioning, when he attempted to enter the United States aboard an international flight from Mazatlan, Mexico. During a routine records check, officers learned Venegas was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for attempted murder. He was arrested and turned over to the U.S. Marshal Service.
