Oro Valley man arrested for child pornography

In December 2013, the Tucson Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit developed information that a person in the Oro Valley area was downloading and sharing child pornography on the internet. The investigation led detectives to a residence in the 8200 Block of North Northern Avenue.

On January 23, 2014, a search warrant was served at the residence with the assistance of U.S. Marshals.

During the service of the search warrant, detective’s located evidence that implicated 31-year-old Jesus Miguel Navarro Tovar, as the suspect involved in the downloading and sharing of child pornography. Tovar was booked into the Pima County Jail on 10 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

The Tucson Police Department is urging parents to continually monitor all of their children’s Social Media Accounts to include:  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat or any others they may utilize. Knowing and monitoring your child’s online friends, connections and conversations is crucial for their safety.
