Two Pima County teens arrested for conspiring to kill girlfriend

On February 5, 2014, detectives with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Domestic Violence Unit began an investigation on two 17-year-old males who conspired to kill an 18-year-old female.

Kevin Pettitt was upset with his ex-girlfriend, with whom he has a 1-year-old child with, over money and custody issues. He conspired with his friend, Wyatt Bowman, to lure her into the desert, shoot her, remove her teeth and then burn her so she could not be identified.

Kevin Pettitt offered to pay Wyatt Bowman an undisclosed amount of money for his assistance.

Kevin Pettitt and Wyatt Bowman were transported to the Pima County Adult Detention and each booked on one count of Conspiracy to Commit Murder. –
