Update of fatal fiery crash February 8, 2014

The booking photograph for Juan M. Hernandez-Rodriguez is now available. He was booked into the Pima County Jail on February 8, 2014 for 1 count of 2nd Degree Murder, 1 count of Aggravated Assault, 1 count of Endangerment, and 1 count of Felony Criminal Damage for his involvement in the collision that occurred at 6th Avenue and Illinois Street.

Detectives have been unable to positively identify the victim driver from the incident due to the severity of the collision. However, due to property recovered from the scene, as well as statements taken the night of the incident, detectives are confident in releasing the identity of the victim driver. He was identified as 18-year old Wilberto Llanes. Next of kin have been notified.
