Sheriff’s Deputies and Douglas Police Department Officers responded to the address of the victim located in the 400 block of Irvine to search for any suspects in the area. The initial information received indicated that three male subjects were involved in a verbal confrontation and shots were fired from a 9mm handgun at the 33-year-old victim, hitting him once in the left arm.
An interview was conducted with the victim, who could identify two of the suspects, one of which was Abraham Gonzalez, 26-years-old, from Douglas, who was located at a family residence where he was taken into custody.
Charges on Gonzalez are as follows:
Attempted Murder
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Endangerment
Recklessly Discharging a Firearm
Gonzalez is being held without bond and additional interviews and search warrants will be conducted. This investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
