Plan for Arizona detours this weekend

Drivers are advised to plan ahead for some freeway-ramp closures in the Phoenix area this weekend. The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends travelers allow extra time and consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place:

Interstate 10 on and off ramps at Ray Road in the Ahwatukee/Chandler area closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Sunday (March 16) for pavement-resurfacing work. DETOUR: Use alternate routes, including the I-10 ramps at Chandler Boulevard or Warner Road.

Southbound Interstate 17 ramps to east and westbound Loop 101 in north Phoenix closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (March 15) for pavement repair and lane striping. Northbound I-17 ramp to westbound Loop 101 also closed. Southbound I-17 on-ramp at Deer Valley Road closed. DETOUR: Use alternate routes, including Deer Valley Road, Rose Garden Lane or Union Hills Drive to 19th or 27th avenues to reach Loop 101.

Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Hawes Road in Mesa closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (March 17) for State Route 24 interchange construction. DETOUR: Use alternate routes, including the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Power Road.
