Man charged in Pima County woman’s murder

On March 18, 2014, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Pima County Sheriff deputies responded to a residence located in the 3500 block of East Guthrie Mountain Place, to conduct a welfare check. When deputies arrived, they observed signs that a crime may have been committed inside the home.

The Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit responded and took over the investigation. A search warrant was obtained and a deceased adult female was located during the search. Further information developed which indicated that the death of the female was a homicide.

Evidence obtained led to the identification of a suspect and the subsequent arrest of 56-year-old Myron Fletcher. Myron Fletcher was charged with 1st Degree Murder and was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending victim identification and next of kin notification.
