A closure of westbound I-10 between Miracle Mile and Prince Road is scheduled from 9 p.m. Saturday, March 29, to 5 a.m. Sunday, March 30 to install sign structures and metal artwork on the new Prince Road overpass.
All westbound I-10 traffic will be detoured to the Miracle Mile exit ramp and frontage road, and back onto westbound I-10 at the Prince Road entrance ramp.
In addition, the westbound I-10 entrance ramp at Grant Road and the Miracle Mile intersection will be closed at I-10.
There will also be a lane restriction on westbound I-10 between Prince and Ruthrauff roads to allow crews to stripe the new fourth lane in that segment.
Once the closure is lifted on Sunday, westbound I-10 will have four lanes open between Miracle Mile and Ruthrauff Road. The speed limit will increase from 45 to 55 mph.
The $76.4 million I-10 widening project, which began in September 2011, reached a significant milestone on March 10 when the westbound I-10 entrance and exit ramps were opened and the traffic signal at the Prince Road traffic interchange became fully operational.
The eastbound I-10 entrance ramp at Prince Road will remain closed until mid-April so that crews can complete landscaping, electrical and barrier installation.
