Dale is a diabetic and requires regular insulin injections. Dale’s boss indicated Dale was acting ‘weird’ and offered to drive him home. Dale refused and wanted to drive his own truck. Dale’s wife believes his behavior is related to the diabetic condition. Dale is 5’ 08” tall, weighs approximately 185 pounds with blue eyes and gray hair likely wearing works boots and jeans- shirt unknown.
There was no indication of depression or domestic issues expressed during discussions with the family.
Since the original report, deputies and Dale’s family have attempted to contact Dale on his cell phone without success. Efforts to track the phone location have also not succeeded as it appears his phone has been turned off. Deputies immediately issued an ‘attempt to locate’ bulletin to law enforcement agencies statewide. Both deputies and Dale’s family members have checked areas he is likely to frequent, are tracking any bank account activity, and maintaining contact with hospitals. No leads have resulted at this time.
Working in part with direction from the family, YCSO has launched the Air Group fixed wing team and the Rescue 1 helicopter to search the miles of trails and roadways leading from the area. YCSO is also deploying ground teams on ATVs to check buildings, roadways, and trails in the immediate vicinity. Dale’s family has been coordinating their own ongoing search effort in areas where Dale was known to visit.
