On May 18, 2014, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Pima County deputies responded to Ina Road and Shannon Road reference a pedestrian, 48-year-old Luigi Marrottia, who was hit by a car. When deputies arrived, they learned the car was eastbound on Ina Road approaching Shannon Road with a green light.
Mr. Marrottia, was walking across Ina Road at Shannon Road southbound. The 50-year-old driver did not see Mr. Marrottia until it was too late and collided with him in the intersection. Due to his injuries, Mr. Marrottia was pronounced deceased at the scene.
