Suspicious call in Benson leads to marijuana seizure

On May 21, 2014 at approximately 10:00 am, deputies were dispatched to W Rancho Vistoso Road in Benson reference suspicious circumstances.

Upon arrival, deputies met with a Cochise County Planning & Zoning employee who was at the property performing an inspection. The employee advised that while at the property, he detected a strange odor and strange looking plants growing in the front and side yards.

Deputies confirmed that the plants were marijuana and they were extracted from the yards. There were no occupants located at the residence.

Deputies seized approximately 434 marijuana plants and the investigation is being continued.
