Pima County reported drug overdose could be murder

On June 5, 2014, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to 4500 block of E. Benson Highway about a rescue follow-up involving a drug overdose. When deputies arrived, the victim, identified as 23-year-old Veronica Anderson, was deceased.

Deputies noticed the evidence was inconsistent with a drug overdose and requested a Homicide response. The Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit found evidence that indicated foul play. Detectives arrested 22-year-old Keenan Gallagher for Second Degree Murder.
