Pima County detectives investigate body found in the desert

On June 6, 2014, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to a suspicious activity call in the 4400 block of West Tetakusim. When deputies arrived, they were directed to a deceased female who had been located in the desert southeast of Camino de Oeste and Tetakusim Road.

The deputies checked the body and area for signs of foul play and nothing was found.

The Sheriff’s Department Homicide Unit responded and took over the investigation. During the course of their investigation, they learned the female had been reported missing by the Pascua Yaqui Police Department on June 5, 2014. The deceased was positively identified as 49-year-old Irma Francisco. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
