Serial Circle K crook arrested after tip from public

Tucson Police have made an arrest of the crook involved in a large amount of beer skips at various Circle K Stores throughout the city.

Due to a tip to 88-CRIME tips, the Tucson Police Department’s Larceny Unit identified the suspect as 25-year old Matthew Powers. On June 28th, a South Tucson Police Officer located and arrested Powers without incident. TPD Detectives interviewed Powers and he was subsequently booked into the Pima County Jail for 20 counts of Shoplifting.

Powers is believed to be involved in more shoplifting incidents and felony charges are pending.

Surveillance photographs showed the Powers exiting various Circle K establishments with multiple 30-packs of beer.
