Funeral urn ditched at Phoenix business

It is hard to imagine, but on the afternoon of July 5, 2014, a vehicle pulled up to the gate of a business in the area or 19,800 N. Tatum. A person got out of the car and placed what is believed to be a sealed funeral urn in the grass and then drove away.

The identity of the person in the car is unknown, according to police.

Phoenix Police say it is unknown who’s remains are in the urn or who the person responsible for its care may be. The only identifying marks are from Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas, but the name and identifying numbers on the urn have been obliterated. It is believed that the car may have been a purple or blue PT Cruiser and possibly a convertible.

Investigators would like to identify who the urn belongs to so that it can be returned to the owner.

Anyone with information concerning who the owner of the urn may be is encouraged to contact the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151 Silent Witness at 480 WITNESS
