3 arrested in Cochise County for drug, human smuggling

On Wednesday July 9, 2014 a local Douglas rancher contacted an off duty Sheriff’s Deputy and advised him that he had witnessed two Hispanic males carrying large burlap bundles jump into a gold Toyota truck. This truck was reportedly on Highway 80 and Lee Station Road heading towards Douglas.

Deputies responded to the area and observed a gold Toyota truck westbound on Highway 80, being driven by a female. The vehicle crossed over a double yellow line several times before turning onto Washington Avenue where Deputies stopped the vehicle for the traffic violation.

Deputies observed the female driver, and two male subjects inside of the vehicle in addition to two large burlap bundles of what appeared to be marijuana. Deputies took all three subjects into custody and booked them into the Cochise County Jail.

The marijuana bundles were processed with a total of 106.65 pounds of Marijuana taken into evidence.

Melissa Bauldry, 43 of Sierra Vista, was booked into CCSO Jail, Bisbee, for the following charges: Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Transportation of Marijuana for Sale, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Smuggling of Human Beings.

Luis Alvedrez, 20 years old, from Agua Prieta, was booked into CCSO Jail for the following charges: Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Transportation of Marijuana for Sale.

Juan Grijalva, 32 years old, from Agua Prieta, was booked into CCSO Jail for the following charges: Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Transportation of Marijuana for Sale.

The case is pending prosecution.
