Man, 8 year old daughter rescued from flooded wash

Tucson Fire Department units conducted a swift water rescue of an 8 year old girl and her father after they became trapped in a wash on the southeast side.

The wash was dry when they entered and “wall of water” travelled down the wash. They ended up climbing the tree for safe refuge.

The National Weather Service issued flash-flood and severe thunderstorm warnings in the late afternoon and into the evening.
