“After meeting with Frank Riggs and his team, I have come away knowing that this dedicated patriot is just what Arizona needs… He’s the right guy for the right times,” said Nugent. “Arizona is surely one of the best states for quality of life and freedom… and in these crazy Obama times, Arizona must not just hold the line, she must push back hard. Frank Riggs is the right guy to do it.”
An internationally celebrated rock guitarist, Nugent is equally well known by millions of Americans as one of the nation’s most outspoken supporters of Second Amendment rights. He has served continuously on the Board of Directors of the NRA since 1995. “The Nuge” is also dedicated to preserving America’s great outdoor heritage for future generations. In addition to touring with his band and appearing in his Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild television show, Nugent is also a prolific contributor to Newsmax, Human Events, and the Washington Times.
Nugent speaks out on constitutional rights and the need for a rebirth of individual liberty and personal responsibility in the U.S.
Riggs and Nugent also share a law enforcement connection. Nugent is a close friend of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio who appointed him a Special Deputy Captain of the MCSO. Riggs is a former police officer and deputy sheriff and the only candidate for Governor with both military and law enforcement experience. In discussing why he believes Frank Riggs is the best choice for governor of Arizona, Nugent said, “The mighty U.S. Constitution and sacred Bill of Rights guide the greatest quality of life in the history of the world, and I know that they also guide Frank Riggs.”
Riggs concluded, “Ted Nugent has unparalleled courage of his convictions. He is a straightforward, vocal leader in defense of individual liberty and a powerful champion for constitutionally adherent and limited government. He knows from his uncompromising and constant advocacy for freedom the challenges we face as a state and nation. His support reaffirms what I’ve been telling primary voters all over Arizona: based on my conservative principles and deep, proven record, I’m the clear conservative choice for governor.”
Riggs was the only gubernatorial candidate who stood with the residents of Oracle as they protested the federal government’s decision to send Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) to a group home for juvenile delinquents in their small rural community.
