Patrol deputies surrounded the home and detained the suspects outside. One suspect ran from the home and deputies were able to detain him after a foot chase. A witness identified the suspect that ran from the residence as one of the people who burglarized the home on South Holly Drive. The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Martin Santa Maria.
Detectives took over the investigation and a warrant was obtained for the property on South Palo Verde Road. Items from the burglary were found inside the home and additional items were found in a nearby wash.
Martin Santa Maria was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on one charge of Burglary in the 2nd Degree. Santa Maria also had three outstanding felony warrants; one from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for Armed Robbery, one for a Failure to Appear out of another department relating to a Theft charge, and one warrant from the US Marshals Service for a Probation Violation relating to narcotics charges.
Sheriff’s Department detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the remaining suspects in this case. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects is urged to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
