Bank robber linked to bank in Oro Valley captured

Tucson Police arrested 23 year-old Patrice Gomis yesterday for a bank robbery here in Tucson. There is evidence linking Gomis  to a recent bank robbery in Oro Valley.

On August 21, 2014, just before 6:00 P.M., an adult male suspect entered the Bank of America located at 4201 North Oracle. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money from the register and advising that he was armed. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled from the bank in a vehicle. Witnesses described the suspect and his vehicle to police. Shortly after the robbery, officers located a matching vehicle and driver. They attempted to stop the vehicle using lights and sirens. The driver refused to pull over and began fleeing from the officers. Patrol officers pursued the vehicle. When the vehicle stopped, the driver exited and ran. The suspect was captured after a brief foot pursuit. Witnesses were able to positively identify the suspect as the one who was in the bank. The money taken from the bank was located on the suspect.

While Tucson Police Detectives were investigating this bank robbery they recognized the suspect as possibly being involved in a recent bank robbery from Oro Valley. Investigators from Oro Valley responded to the scene and were able to determine that the suspect was involved in their bank Robbery as well.

The suspect, 23 year-old Patrice Gomis, was booked into Pima County Jail on one count of Robbery and one count of Unlawful Flight from a Pursuing Law Enforcement Vehicle. He was also booked on charges from the Oro Valley Police Departmen
