Recently retired Phoenix police sergeant arrested for child pornography

On Friday August 29, 2014, Phoenix police detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Robert Carrillo, 61, who recently retired from the Phoenix Police Department as a sergeant in March after 37 years of service.

The former sergeant with the Phoenix police was arrested at his home when he was accused of possessing images of children being sexually exploited in a pornographic manner..

Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos confirmed the arrest but would not comment on the investigation.

Carrillo was arrested as a result of a search warrant detectives served on a his Chandler home Friday as part of an ongoing investigation. While searching the home, detectives discovered images depicting children being sexually exploited, authorities said.

Sgt. Steve Martos did confirm that Carrillo was booked on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
