The Tucson Police Department arrested two suspects immediately after they robbed the Circle K located at 2701 North Oracle Road Thursday morning
On September 24th, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Officer Katherman and Officer Wolfenden were conducting surveillance at the Circle K on Oracle Road near Kelso Street. This particular location has experienced a high number of recent thefts and robberies, which drew the officers to the area to conduct proactive policing.
A vehicle caught the officer’s attention as the driver parked suspiciously on Kelso Street near the Circle K. Two men exited the vehicle leaving the driver’s door open. As they approached the Circle K, one man stood at the door while the other went inside. Both men left the store at a fast pace before getting into the vehicle and leaving. The officers followed the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the driver sped up then abruptly stopped. Three men fled from the vehicle and a foot chase ensued. All three men were ultimately detained by the two officers. At the same time the Circle K clerk reported to the Tucson Police that they had just been robbed at knife point. Officers confirmed that two of the men detained were directly involved in the robbery.
