CBP officers seize $33K worth of meth and vehicle

A 25-year-old Mexican national was arrested Oct. 12 at the Port of Lukeville in connection with a failed drug-smuggling attempt.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred Luis Angel Munoz-Gutierrez for additional inspection of his Ford sedan and found 10 bundles of methamphetamine Inside of a tire.

Officers processed the 11 pounds of the drugs that were determined to be worth an estimated $33,000, and the vehicle for seizure. Munoz has been referred to U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
