On October 17, 2014, 27 year old Adolfo Garibay was arrested for three counts of trafficking in stolen property from senior care facility residents.
On October 8, 2014, the Oro Valley Police Department’s patrol officers responded to the Brookdale Senior Care Living facility, in reference to several thefts from residents. According to officials, all residents of this facility are vulnerable adults due to diminished memory capacity.
With the cooperation of Brookdale’s management, the investigation identified a new employee, 25 year old Monica Garibay as a possible suspect. The Criminal Investigations Unit was able to locate one of the stolen items at a local pawn shop and connected it to Garibay. She was arrested on October 12, 2014 and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Facility and charged with theft and trafficking.
Adolfo is the husband of Monica. Adolfo was not an employee at the senior care facility. The investigation revealed that Adolfo also pawned items stolen from residents of the senior care facility located at 10000 block of North Oracle Road.
