Douglas CBP officers seize $180K in marijuana

TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Port of Douglas arrested two Mexican nationals during separate weekend smuggling attempts of marijuana with a combined value of approximately $180,000.

Officers arrested Jose Daniel Grijalva-Marquez, 18, for attempting to smuggle nearly 326 pounds of marijuana Friday, and Laura Susanaga-Calderon, 39, on Saturday for attempting to smuggle more than 34 pounds.

Officers seized the subjects’ vehicles and marijuana, and referred both to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations
