San Luis CBP officers seize $105,000 in meth  

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Port of San Luis arrested a Yuma, Arizona woman and two Mexican nationals during separate incidents Dec. 8 for attempting to smuggle more than $105,000 worth of methamphetamine into the United States.

Officers arrested a 48-year-old Mexican man after finding 31 pounds of crystal meth, worth more than $94,000, behind the seats of his Mazda sedan.

A 33-year-old Yuma woman was arrested after a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the back of her vehicle where officers found 2.5 pounds of meth worth an estimated $7,900.

Officers also arrested a 34-year-old Mexican man after discovering more than a pound of meth, worth approximately $3,100, strapped to his thighs.

Officers seized all drugs and vehicles involved, and turned the suspects over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
