80 year old passenger Killed in Houghton/Valencia collision

On January 16, 2015, at 1:41 p.m., Tucson Police officers responded to Houghton Road and Valencia Road regarding a vehicle collision. Upon arrival, they located a 2003 Chevy Impala and a 2001 Chevy S10 Blazer that had been involved in a collision. The 77-year old female driver of the Chevy Impala was transported to a local area hospital with serious injuries. The 80-year old male passenger of that vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 30-year old female driver of the Chevy Blazer had minor injuries but was not transported. Her 2-year old passenger was in a car seat and uninjured.

Traffic Detectives responded to continue the investigation. According to witnesses, the Chevy Blazer was traveling northbound on Houghton Road approaching a solid green light at Valencia Road. The Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on Houghton Road and made an eastbound turn on Valencia in front of the Chevy Blazer. The front of the Chevy Blazer struck the passenger side of the Chevy Impala.

The passenger of the Chevy Impala was identified as 80-year old Kenneth Toner.
