The Tucson Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the area of Interstate-10 and West Miracle Mile.
Just after 3:00 p.m. on January 24, 2015, the Tucson Police Department received a 911 call from an individual who advised he had found the body of a male near the opening of a drainage culvert. The culvert runs underneath Interstate-10, just south of West Miracle Mile. When officers arrived, they located a deceased male with obvious signs of blunt force trauma, indicative of a homicide.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. Evidence located at the scene has led investigators to believe that the victim was homeless and living in the area where the incident took place. At this time the victim’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
